James Edland, Chief of Police, holds a Master Peace Officer Certification and has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement. He served as Chief of Police for the City of Pilot Point for six years. He came to Krugerville on October 1st, 2012 and has been essential to the success of the merger and the creation of the Northeast Police Department.
Sgt. Gary McCraw served in the United States Air Force from 2004 through 2008 touring in Iraq and Kuwait. He started his career in 2008 with the Oak Point Police Department. He joined the Krugerville Police Department in August 2013 as a Reserve Officer and was promoted to full time officer in September 2013. He was later promoted to Sergeant in April 2014.
Mark White started his law enforcement career in 2002 with the Denison Police Department. He served with the Pilot Point Police Department from 2004 through 2012 and was promoted to Corporal in 2011. He is currently Lead Field Training Officer for the Northeast Police Department and is helping to create a K-9 program.
William Tinkle was a jailor for the Denton County Sheriff’s office in 2006 and promoted to patrol. He became a Reserve Officer for the Krugerville Police Department in 2010 and promoted to full time Officer in 2011. He is currently a Field Training Officer and assigned to the traffic division.
Carl Parker holds an advanced Texas Peace Officer License. Carl came to us from Sanger Police Department where he worked from 2009-2017. Carl Parker worked for the Tioga Police Department from 2006-2009 where he started his law enforcement career. Carl Parker has a total of 12 years of experience as a Police Officer and is certified as a Field Training Officer.
Nathan Johnson is a United States Air Force Veteran, serving from 2010 through 2014 in Japan and Spain. He served with Allen Police Department as a Patrol Officer from 2015 to 2018. Officer Johnson is a Certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and has focused training on impaired driving.
Sgt. Jeff Pruett holds a Masters Peace Officers Certification and has 24 years in Law Enforcement within Denton County. He has experience both as a Deputy Sheriff and as a Municipal Police Officer and has worked as a Patrolman, Motorcycle Officer, SWAT Operator, and Accident Investigator.
Inv. Matthew Dusek has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement from Southwest Texas State and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University. He served with the Texas Department of Public Safety from 2004 – 2015 and joined our department in 2015. He holds a Master Peace Officer license and has numerous certifications with an emphasis on impaired driving.
Brandon Bray came to Northeast PD in October 2016 having served with the Dallas Police Department for 9 years from 2007 to 2016. While with Dallas, he was promoted to the rank of Senior Corporal in 2015. Officer Bray holds and Advanced Peace Officer License and is a certified Field Training Officer.
Marcus Coulter came to Northeast PD in February 2017 and holds an Advanced Peace Officer License. He began his career in 2006 as a dispatcher with the Denton County Sherriff’s Office and promoted to patrol in 2011. He has worked in patrol and traffic with a number of certifications including Accident Investigation/Reconstruction.
Marco Deleon started his career as a jailer for the Denton County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 and was promoted to Patrol in 2008. While at the Sheriff’s Office he served as an investigator for 6 years and holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas. He became a Reserve Officer for our department in 2015 while he works on obtaining his Masters Degree.
David Lightfoot started his law enforcement career in 1997, attending Collin Collage; Law Enforcement Academy. He has over 20 years of combined experience and hold a Master Peace Officer Certificate with the State of Texas. He served four years in Marine Corps, getting out as an E-5 / Sgt. Lightfoot has attended several leadership training courses in both law enforcement and the military. Basic School of Police Supervision (ILEA) in 2006, 93rd School of Police Supervision (ILEA) in 2008, Dr. Sampson’s Leadership series. He also attended and completed Module I, Module II and Module III of Bill Blackwood’s Leadership Command College (LEMIT) Class of #74.
Michael Draut started reserving with Northeast Police starting in July of 2019. He holds an advanced Texas Peace Officer License. Previously Michael worked for the Town of Flower Mound Police Department from 2003-2011. While with Flower Mound he was awarded the Rookie Officer of the year as well as a Police Commendation. Michael is certified as a Field Training Officer and SWAT Operator.
Board of Commissioners:
Bob Gorton, Commissioner, is a retired Physical Therapist. For more than 40 years he provided Physical Therapy in many settings, most recently serving as the Supervisor of Related Services for Denton ISD Special Education, retiring in June of 2018. He and his wife (of 34 years) Angela are members of F.U.M.C. Denton, where he served on the Administrative board. They have three adult children. Bob is active with Scouts B.S.A. Troop/Crew 65 F.U.M.C. Denton. Where he earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1970. Bob served on the Denton City Council from 1987-1990. In 2014 he and Angela, moved to Cross Roads, Texas where he currently serves as the Mayor.
Michael Starr, Commissioner, is a long term resident of the City of Krugerville. He is currently employed by the City of Southlake and the City of Aubrey where he holds the position of Fire Chief. He served on the Krugerville City Council from 2005 till 2015. He holds his advance firefighter certification, Paramedic Certification and Peace Officer License. He is married with four children and one grandson.
Jim Siano, Commissioner, has his Undergraduate and Master’s degree from Seton Hall University South Orange NJ. He was an Officer in the United States Marine Corp. Supervisory Special Agent Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was involved in criminal investigations, hostage negotiator and prior to retiring from the FBI he was supervisor of the Presidential task force on organized crime and drugs. Director of Corporate Security at CellStar for 10 years. Currently teaches a criminal justice class and is an assistant coach at Aubrey High School, Aubrey, TX.
Noel Johns, Commissioner, has over 30 years experience as a law enforcement professional. He has served as city police officer, as deputy sheriff, and also was a highly decorated federal agent. As an agent he served on the FBI Joint Anti-Terrorism Force and was Manager of the Dignitary Protection and Security Detail Training for the U.S. Department of State. Johns serves as Senior Vice President, Director of Domestic & International Operations for STI Solutions, LLC.
Jeff Parent, Commissioner, is a resident of Krugerville, married over twenty five years with 4 children. He is currently in the process of getting a BBA in Management from Northwood University. He served as Sr. Retail Management from 1992-2000 and was an Aubrey ISD Trustee 2000-2006 and also served on the Krugerville City Council from 2011 - 2015. He is President of LTC Professional Builders, Inc and Deacon Chairman for First Rock Fellowship.
Bill George joined the Denton Police Reserve in 1975 and in 1978 became a regular officer. During his career he was a Patrolman, Field Training Officer, the first Personnel and Training Officer and retired in 2000 as a Patrol Sergeant. Upon retirement from Denton PD he started on another career with FEMA/Homeland Security in Hazmat/Chemical Weapons Stockpile were he again retired in 2011.
